I Think the Zipper Must be Stuck

Yesterday I grabbed a pair of my favorite jeans. They had somehow gotten buried in the pile of clothes that I never seem to find a spot for. It was nice to see them again, you know the feeling of that soft well worn broken in denim. Sort of like an ole pair of shoes, very comfortable.

I slip them on and find that the zipper must be stuck. I am so bummed. Perhaps this is the reason that they got buried in the first place. I don’t recall that being the case, but maybe. I keep trying to get the zipper to work so I try a different approach, I will do up the button and go from there. But to my surprise  the button seems to not want to work either. That darn button just does not want to get in the hole. Now I am really bummed and I am also huffing and puffing.

I finally manage to get the zipper unstuck and the button buttoned. What a chore! I look at myself in the mirror as I am barely able to breath and remember why those jeans were in that pile. They are my BWG (before weight gain) jeans. I think I have several pair just like that. All of them have zippers that are stuck. But not to worry with jeans, after you wear them a bit they will stretch.

I use to be One Hot Momma

For years I walked around saying, “boy, am I HOT!”. I always snickered to myself that I was “One Hot Momma”.
I went years without a good nights sleep because of waking up repeatedly because of being so HOT. Then a few minutes later being so cold I couldn’t pull the covers up tight enough.
Any of that sound familiar?

Those terrible dreaded hot flashes. I suffered for years. At times mine were so bad I would vomit. It was as though the contents of my stomach “boiled over”, because I was so Hot. I know, gross but true.

My Dr. put me on HRT and it did help but I was so concerned the harm it may be causing my body, I discontinued taking them.

I set out on a quest to find something natural to relieve my hot flashes. I found a product called Amigo Juice. It is available in capsule or powder form. I have used both but I prefer the powder. I mix it with water or orange juice but my preference is to mix it with either plain or vanilla yogurt.

Amigo Juice contains the 3 super foods. Acai, Mangosteen and Goji. Not only did Amigo Juice help with my hot flashes but my whole body feels better. It may be that ripple effect of getting a better nights sleep. When your able to sleep your not so moody or grouchy. Since your better rested your whole body feels better.

I will admit I took Amigo Juice for a good month before I noticed and difference in my hot flashes subsiding. After a good 3 months the severity was greatly diminished.
When I was on HRT I paid about $30.00 a month for that Rx. Since being on Amigo Juice I have cut down on the amount of vitamins that I take. So cost wise for me Amigo Juice is a great value for my pocket book.

Another nice thing about Amigo Juice is there is no monthly autoship and no MLM to join. Just simply purchase what you want and need. Your buying directly from the manufacturer so there is no middle man involved.

Amigo Juice has been a tremendous help to this former “Hot Momma”.
Perhaps it will help you too.

Get A Pet to Lower Blood Pressure

Several years ago a study was done, 48 people with hypertension were either given Lisinopril(Zestril) or a dog. After 6 months their response to mental stress was measured. The group that had received the pet had much lower blood pressure changes in reaction to stress than those that received the drug.
The result of this study is no surprise to me. Animals seem to have a natural calming effect. I have both cats and dogs. There is just nothing as calming as a cat curled up on your lap sleeping. They can sleep for hours and the slow rhythmic breathing is quite comforting. Gently stroking their fur while they sleep would just add to reducing your stress level.

You Can Become Independent with A Mobility Electric Scooter

No need to feel disabled any longer. Advanced mobility electric  scooters   can provide independence for the handicapped, disabled or elderly.

There has been much advancement in the field of wheelchairs,   specifically mobility wheelchairs. But now there is something even more   versatile, mobility electric scooters. When it comes to the elderly or   handicapped mobility scooters may be the best thing since sliced bread.

In the past disabled persons would lose out on many uplifting   activities. But with the innovations in mobility scooters, the elderly  and   handicapped are not feeling quite as old or as feeble as they once were.    Why? When you can get around almost as well as active healthy people you    can return to being a part of the family or community. Independence is  once   again your ally. The ability to get around the house or out in public  once   again can be a major boost in a persons self worth. No more dependence  on   others to perform common everyday tasks.

Motorized electric   scooters for people with a handicap are fast becoming the way of the   future. With technological advances being made with regard to electric   mobility scooters it?s no wonder they have taken the disabled world by   storm. It?s a thrill seeing a 90 year old man walking his dog with the  help   of a mobility electric scooter, something that he wouldn?t have been   possible just a few short years ago. But now there is practically  nowhere a   person can?t go with the help of an electric motor scooter.

There   are gas motor scooters and electric motorized scooters, but for the   handicapped gas scooters are out and electric is in. No need for gas,  just   plug it in for a recharge and then off you go with full independence  once   again. These wonderful scooters are getting faster and lighter. Plus,  the   scooter batteries have drastically improved, allowing much longer  periods   of driving without the need for a recharge. Wouldn?t it be nice being  able   to scoot around all day without the need for a charge?

Another   advantage of mobility electric motor scooters is the cost. They are not   only becoming increasingly less expensive, but if a person is disabled  or   handicapped it may even be possible to have Medicare or other medical   insurance pick up some or all of the tab.

When purchasing an   electric scooter be sure to take it for a test drive before buying. The   most important thing is making sure that your motorized scooter is   comfortable. By purchasing a comfortable scooter it?ll be a pleasant  drive   anywhere you go. Another consideration is the cost. If at all possible  have   your health insurance company pay for part of the price. But even if you    have no insurance it is well worth the price. No price can be put on  being   independent and mobile, especially if you?ve been laid up for   awhile.

One of the many options available in mobile electric   scooters is their number of wheels. There are models that have either 3   wheels or 4 wheels. The 3 wheel scooters are typically lighter in  weight.   The 4 wheel models are typically heavier, but may be a little better   balanced when going quickly around a turn. Two wheels in the front make  for   a more stable vehicle around sharp corners. Once again, it is wise to  test   drive before buying.

There are many different options including   colors, sizes, weights, number of wheels, battery capacity and the types  of   seats. If chosen carefully an electric scooter can become one of the  best   purchases ever made for the handicapped, disabled or elderly.

Omnicare does not honor it’s agreements.

Pills Pills and more PillsDon’t you just hate it when things change and your the last one to know about it. The only way you know things have changed is that you get a letter in the mail telling you that you have been turned over to collections.

Omnicare makes up it’s own rules as it goes along.

The following statement was taken directly from Omnicare’s website…

“Omnicare provides professional pharmacy services to skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities in 47 states in the United States and Canada. Our services are focused on delivering the most appropriate pharmaceutical care cost effectively.”

I actually have to snicker at that statement. “Our services are focused on delivering the most appropriate pharmaceutical care cost effectively.” I suppose I could read a bit more into that part of the statement and make it mean just about anything, Perhaps that is what Omnicare has done. Make that statement fit the situation.

I want to tell you how Omnicare really takes care of the people that it provides services to.
==================================================================

End of October 2006
Margret Mae entered Tender Care Nursing Home in Monroe Michigan
after a short stay in the hospital. Margret had suffered a stroke in her
home and laid on the floor for 4 days before she was found.

Beginning October 2007
Margret was released from the nursing home and went to live with her son and myself.   Shortly after arriving here WE got a bill in the mail for $3996.35 from Specialized Pharmacy. I say “WE” because the bill came in my husband name not Margret’s. After the shock of seeing such a large amount being owed I called and asked about it. I insisted that there must be a mistake. What was this bill for?

I was told that this was for the drugs that Margret has received while she was in the nursing home. No explanation was given for WHY no bill had been sent prior to this but I would be getting a break down of all of the drugs that were given while Margret was in the nursing home.   A week or so later I did indeed get a break down.   Margret got on the phone with Specialized Pharmacy and made arrangement to pay $50.00 a month. And we started to pay $50.00 a month. That was the agreement that both the pharmacy and Margret agreed to.

June 2008
Specialized Pharmacy billing changed to Omnicare Pharmacy

I am guessing Fall of 2009
Margret received a letter stating that she had been turned over to collectionsfor not paying her bill. I called the pharmacy and was told how sorry they were but this should not have happened. We will take care of this. You account is noted that you are set up on a $50.00 a month payment.

February 1 2010
Margret received another letter indicating that she had once again been
turned over to collections. I called again and spoke with a delightful woman
named Sandy. Sandy once again told me how sorry she was that this happened and she did see that the account is setup for a $50.00 a month payment plan. She said she would find out and get back with me. Sandy called and told me that she had forwarded an email and that someone would be getting back with me about this matter.

A few days Later Harold called. I was told that my bill was 271 days past due. I told Harold it can’t be I had just sent in a check and had been sending in checks all along, $50.00 a month just as had been agreed to. Harold went onto tell me that the outstanding debt itself was what was 271 days past due.   I asked Harold what happened to the agreement that we had for the $50.00 a month?  He told me again it was 271 days past due. I said if you were going to change the rules I think it would have been nice to let us know. To give us a heads up to your intent of if the bill was not paid that we would be turned over to the collection agency. A phone call or a letter would have been nice.   Harold said, we did call you. I asked, when did you call me? Harold said we called you on January 29. I said I didn’t get a phone call. Did you speak to me or leave me a message? Harold told me that no message was left. But that was the “attempt to notify” before account was turned over to collections. I asked how I was suppose to know that you want to speak to me. Harold informed me that my caller ID  would have indicated that they called. Of course I had to ask, What makes you think I have caller ID? I proceeded to tell Harold that I was sure not everyone was as tecky as he was.

Margret called the collection agency and was told to borrow the money.

Margret has paid the outstanding bill to the collection agency.

Margret never said she didn’t owe the money. Payment arrangements were made and the payments were always paid. Omnicare is just not to be trusted. I am sure if this has been done to Margret it is being done to many many other people.

I welcome your comments and any experience with Omnicare that you would like to share.

How to Start Eating Healthy

If you currently do not eat a healthy diet, it can be difficult to start such a plan. However, healthy eating is important for maintaining bodily function and living a disease-free life. If you struggle with healthy eating, than you know that breaking unhealthy habits can be the most difficult part of the process. However, if you truly want to live the best lifestyle possible, it is important to follow tips in order to start eating a more healthy diet.

A good beginning step when you want to start eating more healthily is to rid you home of all founds that do not into healthy categories. Keep junk foods and beverages out of your house so that you will not be tempted to snack during the day. If you’re worried about getting hungry, keep healthy snacks like carrot sticks, yogurt, fresh fruit, or whole-wheat crackers on hand. If you find that you just cannot bear to toss out the sweets, try keeping something tiny on hand, like chocolate chips. Eating a few of these won’t ruin your diet but also will give you that little sugary fix you rave.

Another great step to healthy eating when you are first starting the process is to take a few moments to learn about what foods are the healthiest for you and how they work in the body. Most people understand that fruits, vegetables, and low-fat means and dairy products are good for you, but few people understand why. The key is learning about nutrients. When you understand how specific nutrients work in the body, you will be more likely to make these healthy choices for your body. Knowledge really is power!

When cleansing yourself to prepare for a new healthy diet, you should also take into consideration your schedule for meals. If you often eat in a rushed hurry at odd times of day, you probably are not getting the best foods possible. Plan ahead! Instead of grabbing a fast food lunch on the go, take a bagged lunch to work, complete with a healthy wrap and some fresh vegetables. Plan ahead for healthy meals in the evening as well by cooking ahead if you are not currently getting healthy dinners and have little time to cook when you get home every night.

Start with baby steps. Even if you only replace one soda a day with a glass of water, you are really improve your calorie intake. If you eat fast food every day for lunch, try replacing that even half of the time. When you start by taking small steps, it does not seem like you are cutting out all of the foods you love and you can take your time to learn about healthy foods which you can love equally as well.

Happy, Healthy Hearts

Everyone knows that working out is good for your body. However, do you really understand the correlation between aerobics and heart health? There are many people who swear that doing aerobics is the best way for them to feel healthy and to be better in every aspect of their life. When it comes right down to it, aerobics and heart health is something that you want to keep an eye on because it is something that you can really focus on to get more healthy.

There are simply more benefits to aerobics than you can talk about in an article. However, the correlation between aerobics and heart health is something that you simply cannot deny because it is something that is going to stay with you and with your health forever. When you look at aerobics and heart health you are going to see that the more aerobics you can do, the healthier your heart is going to become. This might seem like a general idea, and yes, it is very general in that the more you work, the better your heart will work for you. However, there are specific reasons that this is the case.

When it comes to the relationship between aerobics and heart health the basic point is that by doing aerobics you are giving yourself a work out where your heart and lungs are constantly moving faster than they are when you are resting. This means that as you work out, your heart and lungs are forced to work harder. The more that you do, the more your heart has to do for you. By making aerobics part of your routine, you are forcing your heart to work each day, and this is going to make it stronger.

Basically, when it comes to aerobics and heart health the point is that they are connected. The better your heart is doing, the more aerobics you are going to be able to do without stopping. And the more aerobics you can do, the healthier your heart is going to be.

Like anything, when it comes to aerobics and heart health you are going to have to work your way up. If you haven’t done much working out, your heart isn’t going to be able to take very much right away. Aerobics and heart health are something that you have to work up to, so take your time and talk to your doctor in order to develop a great aerobics routine that is going to clearly benefit you.
